AÍXA BAND–HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The Aíxa Band was formed in January 2003 by the musical producer, arranger, composer, guitar player and singer, Eduardo Filizzola. He started dancing Brazilian Zouk around the year 2000, when he fell in love with the dance and its rhythm. In 2002, he wrote the song “Pra Ficar”, which was conceived in the Zouk rhythm and later on inspired the formation of the Aíxa Band. To acomplish this new project, Filizzola put together his experience as a musical producer and his knowledge about Zouk that he acquired by listening to the rhythm almost every day. As an active MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) musician, Filizzola chose to keep focused on his MPB work and stay off the leading vocals. Even though he preferred to hire other artists and focus on being a musical producer, he is the author of most of the songs and musical arrangements. He also takes part in the recording sessions by singing, playing both acoustic and electric guitar and sequencing the electronic recording of all other instruments. Therefore, he is in full charge of all the recording process.
